Princess Sumaya University for Technology Holds Second Annual Career Day

AMMAN, JORDAN, June 03, 2006 — Stemming from its genuine interest in securing good employment opportunities for its students, the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) held its second annual Career Day on the PSUT campus last week.

The event, which was held under the patronage of the President of PSUT Professor Hisham Ghassib, featured the participation of XPress, Turnkey Information Solutions (TIS), Offtec, Jordan Data Systems (JDS), alongside 16 other companies all specializing in the fields of Information Technology and Communications.

Students taking part in the event's proceedings were granted the opportunity to learn more about the products and services that the participating firms have to offer. On another level they also got to fill out job applications, and sit for preliminary job interviews at the firms' booths.

Commenting on the event's success, Professor Ghassib said" Given that PSUT is the only learning institution in Jordan that is specialized in offering educational programs relevant to the field of information technology and communications, we make it our sole aim to ensure that our graduates stand out in Jordan's corporate world. On this occasion I would like to thank the Deanship of Student Affairs, and the university's administration for all the hard work they had put into organizing this event, for without their great efforts this event wouldn't be a success. Our students displayed a great level of maturity while visiting the representatives from the different firms present at the event, and the great level of interest they displayed was only a reflection of the great minds we mould. I am proud of our students, our administration, and our faculty members for they are all an embodiment of all what PSUT stands for"

Professor Ghassib added "The PSUT Career Day has become an annual event organized by the deanship of student affairs and placed on the university's event calendar, for we believe that by offering distinguished, innovative, and updated educational programs, we at PSUT are in fact arming our graduates with the tools they need to stand out in the Jordanian market. We strive to ensure that our graduates play a pivotal role in the development of the Jordanian technology scene, and the national economy at large, and this goal can only be achieved if our graduates are armed with the knowledge they need to respond to the ever changing Jordanian market demand "he said
